MANILA - Eight in 10 Filipinos are "willing to work" in government, with the tax bureau, state pension fund and public works department among the top prospects, according to a recruitment portal.
Asked if they were willing to become state employees, 80 percent of 16,000 respondents in an October 2017 poll answered in the affirmative, said Jobstreet.com country manager Philip Gioca.
The Bureau of Internal Revenue was the top choice, Gioca said.
"Why BIR? Because they feel that if they go and join a lot more can be done about corruption," he said.
The Social Security System was second, with respondents expecting good retirement benefits, Gioca said.
The Department of Public Works and Highways was third, mostly from those seeking jobs in construction, he said.
The government can post job vacancies on Jobstreet.com for free, Gioca said.
Out of the current 97,000 vacancies posted on Jobstreet.com, 10,000 are from government positions.
Jobstreet is in talks with the government to become its official jobs postings partner.
