Department of Energy Assistant Director Rodela Romero explained that various factors affecting the prices, with chinese demand increasing pushing prices up and US interest rate hike pulling prices down.
From January, there has already been a net rollback in diesel of P1.00/L and net rollback for kerosene of P1.65/L but gasoline still has a net increase of P6.70/L from the start of the year.
Romero said prices this week will likely see-saw due to different opposing factors so there is no clear trend yet.
