MANILA – A Cabinet body has approved 3 infrastructure projects, as President Rodrigo Duterte moved to rebuild the country's transportation network, according to a government statement released Tuesday.

These include 10 bridges in Metro Manila worth P27.4 billion to ease traffic congestion, a P39.2-billion flood control project in Mindanao that will call for the construction of dikes and floodgates along the Ambal-Simuay river and Rio Grande de Mindanao, and P4.78 billion in farm support.

The Cabinet's Investment Coordination Committee forwarded the projects to the National Economic and Development Authority Board for confirmation, the statement said.

Duterte plans to build up to P8 trillion in new roads, bridges, railways and airports to accelerate economic growth that is among the fastest in the world.
