MANILA - Motorcycle taxi firm Angkas urged its clients to bring their own head caps, face masks and sanitizers to protect themselves amid the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.
Angkas said its disposable head caps may pass the virus via the hair.
"We are also in short supply of face masks," Angkas chief transport advocate George Royeca said in a statement.
Angkas also encouraged passengers to sanitize the helmet, handles and bike seat before riding, and to minimize unnecessary travel.
Riders should "listen to their bodies" and forego traveling if they are not feeling well, Angkas said.
Ride-sharing firm Grab earlier said it was suspending its GrabShare service which pools riders on similar routes into one vehicle to prevent the possible spread of the novel coronavirus.
