MANILA -- (UPDATED) Philippine Airlines on Sunday announced it will be extending its 78th anniversary seat sale for one more week, with more seats up for grabs.
"Due to insistent public demand, Philippine flag carrier Philippine Airlines is extending its 78th anniversary seat sale for seven more days -- March 11 to 17, with an additional 1 million seats up for grabs," the company said in a statement.
The anniversary sale started March 1 and was supposed to end March 10.
"With the additional 1 million seats, the seat sale will enable more travel afficionados to avail of the best buys as low as P78 for domestic and as low as US$78 for international routes," it said.
One-way base fares start at P78 for domestic flights and $78 for international destinations, the flag carrier said.
Travel dates are still from March 16 to Dec. 31, 2019.
The airline's "next generation" computer system upgrade next month will offer passengers a "no-crash" booking experience, even with high traffic during seat sale events, PAL vice president for sales Ryan Uy earlier said.
PAL said the promo fares are applicable to over 30 domestic and 40 international destinations.
The airline recently announced non-stop flights to Hanoi, Phnom Penh and New Delhi. It also welcomed its 5th Airbus A350-900 in February.
