MANILA, Philippines - The House committee on energy has approved a bill regulating the sale of the liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in the country.

The bill also seeks to impose fines on the sale and use of defective LPG tanks as well as underweight and overweight LPG, among other offenses.

The bill, which was approved by the panel without objections on Tuesday morning, is a substitute bill that consolidates several measures on the same agenda.

The bill will now be sent to plenary for its action.
