MANILA - Barely out of her twenties 4 years ago, Angely Dub traveled to remote Iceland to watch glowing green skies over snow-capped mountains and posted photos of the spectacle on Instagram, sowing the seeds of her travel agency business.

Dub is the 27-year-old CEO of Access Travel Tours, whose Instagram feed lists nearly every destination on a millennial's bucket list, has attracted a steady following, including actors Enrique Gil, Liza Soberano, Kim Chiu and Xian Lim.

"Four years ago I went to Iceland, and everyone was like ‘why are you going to Iceland?’ Now Iceland is an emerging destination," Dub said during a GoNegosyo forum for female entrepreneurs.

Access Travel Tours has 245,000 followers on the Facebook-owned photo-sharing service. It offers tours to popular destinations like Paris and Tokyo as well as lesser-known spots like the Rainbow Mountain in Cusco, Peru and the labyrinths of Rose City in Petra, Jordan.

Dub travels to the exotic locations first before offering them to clients. She has been to 60 countries so far.

"When I entered the tour industry, agencies were pushing the clients to join their tours. What I did was, I went to places people weren't familiar about," she said.

The goal of the business is to "bring every unknown destination closer to the Philippines," Dub said.

Social media has become a tool for most entrepreneurs to reach more clients, especially in the Philippines.

Celebrities like Anne Curtis and Georgina Wilson, followed by millions on Twitter and Instagram, have parlayed their popularity into thriving businesses.
