MANILA - The government will soon deploy drones and use satellite imaging to monitor the progress of construction projects and guard against corruption, Budget Sec. Benjamin Diokno said Wednesday.
Data culled from these inspections will be presented to President Rodrigo Duterte during Cabinet meetings to monitor the progress of government projects, Diokno said.
"We will know exactly what is being done and what speed is being done. No more ghost projects," Diokno told reporters.
The Duterte government is building P8 trillion in new roads, railways and airports to aid economic growth.
Diokno said Cabinet meetings will be held twice a month.
