MANILA - Greenhills Mall will reopen Tuesday after a 10-hour long hostage drama that saw a disgruntled security guard shoot one person, its operator said.

The management will adjust policies to protect shoppers and employees, Greenhills Center Management said in a statement.

"Greenhills Mall will reopen its doors to the public today," the statement said. Greenhills is known as the country's "tiangge" capital.

"Management will be implementing policy adjustments to ensure the safety and security of our employees, tenants and loyal patrons," it said.

The hostage taker said there was corruption in the mall and that he was removed from his post without due process. He will be charged with frustrated murder, illegal possession of explosives, illegal possession of firearms, grave coercion and grave threat.
