MANILA -- Commuters in the MRT will be allowed to bring containers that exceed 100 ml volume capacity inside train stations after inspection, authorities said Wednesday.
However, the liquids, including water, perfume, hand sanitizer, lotion and rubbing alcohol, need to be tested in front of security personnel, the MRT said on its Facebook page.
Commuters need to taste the drinking water, spray on the perfume or rub the lotion that they want to carry with them inside the trains, the MRT said.
Confiscated liquids can still be claimed in stations where passengers left them, the MRT said. Those not claimed within 14 days will be discarded.
The MRT tightened security in February after receiving a bomb threat a month prior.
