MANILA - The Department of Transportation on Wednesday released the final tally for the distribution of riders participating in the motorcyle taxi pilot run for operators Angkas, Joyride and Move It.

Angkas has a total of 23,164 riders, Joyride with 15,000 and Move It with 6,836 out of the Metro Manila cap of 45,000, the DOTr said in a statement.

Move It agreed to transfer 5,000 slots to Angkas since it has "more readily available riders in its roster," the DOTr said. Each participant was initially allowed 15,000 riders in Metro Manila.

Unlisted drivers are considered "colorum" and will be apprehended, the agency earlier said.

The final tally was released following the Feb, 12 deadline for the operators to complete their respective rosters and to comply with the adjusted rider cap.

The cap was earlier increased to a total of 63,000, including operations in Cebu and Cagayan De Oro, from 39,000 after Angkas said the limit could put the livelihood of some of its riders at risk.

The pilot test of motorcycles in public transport will run until March.
