MANILA - Now, the perfect wedding souvenir is just a click away.

A pioneering online shop for bridal favors and decor is set to launch on Valentine’s Day, promising to give brides-to-be one less worry off their checklist.

My Bridesmade is a wedding e-commerce website that brings together in one site an extensive variety of souvenirs for brides keen to put together their big day DIY style, saving up on the cost of getting a wedding planner.

No more braving crowded markets for hours to find a unique giveaway.

"It would help them cut costs and it’s much easier, instead of them going to Divisoria for instance to search," said Debbie Wong, the startup’s "chief inspiration officer."

"On site, you have genuine items that are customizable. You can etch your name," she told ABS-CBN News.

Wong, a hospitality management graduate who worked for 5 years in luxury hotels across Asia, thought of putting up the one-stop shop after seeing how difficult it is for event planners and engaged couples alike to find good quality wedding mementos.

"Filipina brides deserve the best choices on their special day and I wouldn’t want them to deal with the hassle of sourcing out these items on their own, or worse, walk through the sweltering streets of Manila just to find the perfect thank you gift," she said separately in a news release.

The idea came at just the right time for Wong, who observed that the Philippine market has grown more comfortable buying from the internet, with the rise of online stores here.

"I saw that there is a need for it. Back in college, I did my internship in the US and I saw that they had a lot of sites there because consumers are very comfortable doing transactions online," she said in an interview.

"Now, since the age group of brides are more comfortable doing transactions online. I think the market is ready for this," she said.

My Bridesmade offers a tastefully curated selection of products: table decor, from centerpieces to dainty table napkins; bridal props such as parasols and jewelry trays; party supplies like lanterns and frames; and containers for party favors such as boxes and mini bags, among others.

Browsing is made easier as products are grouped under seven themes: classic, rustic, florals, beach and tropical, vintage glamor, whimsical, and modern.

Wong sources products from both local and foreign suppliers, with selections catering to the middle to upper class markets given the price point.

"This will allow brides to be more hands on. It is much easier and more convenient. Quality is assured," said Wong.
