US-based FedEx, the world's largest air-cargo shipper, will use its facilities at the Clark International Airport to transit Taiwan flights to its new Asia-Pacific Hub in Guangzhou, China.
In a statement, the company said it would use Clark as a landing and take-off site to fulfill its operational needs that comply with current aviation regulations.
"FedEx will maintain its presence in the Philippines and remains committed to the Philippine market in the long term as we expand our operations gateway in Manila, with back-office facilities being ramped up as part of a regional strategy to centralize certain services," it said.
Last week, FedEx vacated its 300,000-square foot facility at the Subic free port to relocate its hub operations to China.
The new Guangzhou hub will be FedEx's largest outside the US.
