MANILA – The government will sell bonds to help fund the construction of 13,000 kilometers of farm-to-market roads, Agriculture Secretary Emmanuel Piñol said Thursday.
Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez approved the bond sale, Piñol told DZMM. The agriculture chief did not disclose the size of the issue.
“Dito natin kukunin ang pangtustos sa pagpapagawa ng 13,000 kilometers ng mga farm to market roads all over the country na tatapusin natin within the next 4 years,” Piñol said.
(This will be used to finance 13,000 kilometers of farm to market roads all over the country, which we will finish within the next 4 years.)
The agriculture sector rebounded in 2017, with output growing by 4 percent, compared to a contraction in the previous year.
