MANILA -- Robinsons Land Corp said Friday it would "immediately address" a water pollution notice on one of its malls near Manila Bay, now the subject of a massive government cleanup.

The Laguna Lake Development earlier recommended the issuance of a notice of violation on Robinsons Place Manila and several other bayside establishments.

"We remain committed to protecting the environment and vow to immediately address any issue in support of the government's drive to clean up Manila Bay and to promote sustainability," Robinsons Land said.

Authorities recommended the issuance of "cease and desist" orders against Billion Building, HK Sun Plaza, Tramway Bayview Buffet and D Circle Hotel and notices of violation against Sogo Hotel-Quirino, Government Service Insurance System, Peak Motors Philippines Inc, Makchang Korean Restaurant, 2Blue Realty Corp and Cebuana Lhuiller Building.

Robinsons rival SM earlier said it would take "corrective action" to make sure that its Manila Bay development comply with environment laws.
