MANILA, Philippines - While many companies give salary increases to their employees every year, it seems most Filipino employees are not satisfied with their raise.
An informal survey conducted by job website JobOpenings.ph showed 69% said they were not satisfied with their pay raise. Only 31% said they were satisfied with the increase in their wages.
The survey asked respondents whether they get a salary increase every year. Around 57% said yes, while 42% said no.
Most of those who answered the survey said their salary increase is between 5 to 10% and based on work performance.
Asked what is the appropriate percentage increase, majority said it should be between 20 to 50%.
Majority of the respondents work full time (89%) while only 11% are part time employees or freelance workers. Most (92%) are working for private companies, while only 8% are government workers.
The informal survey was conducted among site visitors of JobOpenings.ph from November 13, 2012 to January 24, 2013.
