MANILA – Robinsons Malls on Friday said it led relief operations that brought assistance to thousands affected by the Taal Volcano eruption.

Robinsons Land Corp., RLove and Robinsons Mall’s The Gift of Change program prepared relief packs with hygiene kits, canned goods, water and other basic needs for thousands of Filipinos displaced by the Taal Volcano eruption, the group said in a statement.

Robinsons Malls and Robinsons Hotels and Resorts employees distributed the relief goods to evacuation centers in Lipa City and Tagaytay City, the statement said.

Many celebrities, conglomerates, and private groups have extended help to affected families in Calabarzon.

Forced evacuation in areas within the 14-kilometer danger zone from the Taal Volcano crater is still in effect. Alert level 4 is still raised in the area, which means a hazardous eruption is possible “within hours or days,” state seismology bureau Phivolcs said.
