MANILA - BDO Unibank said Friday it would waive remittance fees for cash donations meant for victims of the Taal Volcano eruption, making it easier for overseas Filipinos to send help back home.

Fees for cash donations sent through different BDO Remit offices abroad are waived from Jan. 14 to March 31, the bank said in a statement.

Cash donations sent through the bank will be coursed through the BDO Foundation, ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya, and the Philippine Red Cross, which will then facilitate the purchase and distribution of goods to evacuation centers, the bank said.

BDO has remittance coverage worldwide including partners across Asia, Europe, North America and the Middle East.
