Freezing temperatures greet PNoy in Davos

DAVOS, Switzerland - President Aquino and his delegation arrived in Zurich, Switzerland at 6:38 a.m. on Thursday morning (around 1:38 p.m., Manila time) after a long flight from Manila. 

The President arrived to freezing weather in Switzerland, where temperatures hit -10 degrees Celsius.

Aquino is accompanied by a 63-member delegation led by Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert del Rosario and Finance Secretary Cesar Purisima. After arrival ceremonies, he was immediately whisked away to Davos, the venue of the World Economic Forum, about a two hour and 45 minute drive from Zurich.

At the WEF, Aquino is expected to showcase the Philippine economy's strong performance and seek more investments.

Aquino will also meet with top executives from German auto giant Volkswagen, as well as International Monetary Fund managing director Christine Lagarde and WEF founder Klaus Schwab.

He will also meet with the Filipino community in Zurich, before flying back to the Philippines on Saturday. -
