MANILA, Philippines - Prepaid card users may soon be able to use their "load" for five days, instead of the current three days.
The National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) is studying the proposal to extend the load validity period by two days to 5 days.
This as NTC director Edgardo Cabarios junked the proposal to remove expiration dates on prepaid loads, since it would lead to higher costs for telcos.
At present, a prepaid subscriber who buys P10 worth of "load" has to use it within 3 days or it will expire.
The higher amount of "load", the longer the validity period. For instance, a load of between P10 to P50 are valid for 15 days.
