4 oil firms to raise pump prices

MANILA, Philippines – Motorists will wake up to higher fuel prices on Wednesday.

Shell, SEAOIL, Phoenix Petroleum, and Eastern Petroleum announced on Tuesday that they will hike diesel, gasoline, and kerosene prices by Jan. 19.

They cited as the reason the movement in international product prices.

Shell will raise prices of diesel and kerosene by P1 per liter and unleaded gasoline (except regular gasoline) by P0.75 per liter effective 1:00 a.m. Wednesday.

SEAOIL will increase prices of its premium and unleaded gasoline by P0.75 per liter, while diesel and kerosene prices will go up by P1 per liter effective 6:00 a.m.

Phoenix Petroleum will also raise the price of diesel by P1 per liter and gasoline by P0.75 per liter effective 6:00 a.m.

Eastern Petroleum, meanwhile, will jack up the price of diesel by P1 peso per liter and P0.75 for all gasoline products starting 8:00 a.m. – Reports from Alvin Elchico, ABS-CBN News
