MANILA -- Coca-Cola Philippines said Friday it distributed 40,000 liters of drinking water to those displaced by the Taal Volcano eruption.
On top of the bottled water, it also donated 2,000 face masks and organized a relief drive for canned goods and blankets, the beverage giant said in a statement.
Coca-Cola joined other Filipino and international companies like PLDT Inc, Manila Water and Megaworld, which earlier extended aid to the victims.
Tens of thousands remain in evacuation centers with Taal Volcano still under Alert Level 4, the second highest warning, meaning a hazardous eruption is still possible.
“As we join relevant authorities in monitoring the situation and fervently hope that no further devastation will occur, we are prepared to further provide assistance to all communities in need," said Gareth McGeown, CEO of Coca-Cola Bottlers Philippines Inc.
