MANILA – Insurance provider AXA on Thursday said educating middle income Filipinos could help fuel its "significant business" in the Philippines.

AXA could tap new potential customers by showing them their "protection gap" and how the company can fulfill it, its Asia CEO Gordon Watson said in an exclusive interview with ANC's The Boss.

Going "digital" and leveraging the widespread use of mobile phones in the country can help them reach more customers, Watson said.

“We have a winning culture, which is a bias for action, which is really to put the customers first and if you put the customer first then we work back to what the customer needs and that’s the right way to do that,” Watson said.

The company has seen a “fantastic” growth in 2018, but there are more opportunities for growth especially in a country where there is a low insurance penetration, he said.
