Philippine Airlines cancels Tacloban flights

MANILA - The Philippine Airlines on Wednesday cancelled several flights to Tacloban City due to the degradation of the Daniel Z. Romualdez Airport's runway.

The airline said the following flights have been cancelled: 
- PR 2987
- PR 2988
- PR 2238
- PR 2239

PAL said passengers affected by the flight cancellations may rebook at a later travel date within 30 days free of charge, or get a full refund.

The airline also asked for understanding from passengers affected by the "force majeure situation."

Cebu Pacific also cancelled flights to the Eastern Visayas city due to the condition of the Tacloban airport's runway. It said repairs were being hampered by bad weather.
