MANILA - Cebu Pacific cancelled several Tacloban flights on Wednesday, saying the degradation of the local airport's runway posed a risk to flight safety.
The airline said the following flights have been cancelled:
- 5J 653
- 5J 654
- 5J 657
- 5J 658
Two Cebgo flights to Tacloban were also canceled:
- DG 6577
- DG 6578
The airline said its flights to Tacloban on Thursday may also be affected as repairs at the Daniel Z. Romualdez Airport were being hampered by poor weather.
The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines said it was closing the airport from 5:30 PM on January 17 to 9:00 PM January 18 to allow emergency repairs on its runway.
Cebu Pacific said passengers affected by the flight cancellations may re-route to the nearest alternate airports, rebook at a later travel date within 30 days free of charge, get a full refund or place the cost of the ticket in a travel fund for future use.
Affected passengers may also contact the Cebu Pacific hotline at (+632) 7020-888, on Facebook (facebook.com/cebupacificair) or Twitter (@CebuPacificAir).
