MANILA -- Globe Telecom said Thursday it "fully restored" services in Cavite and Laguna that were disrupted by the explosion of Taal Volcano.
Ashfall earlier prevented Globe from fueling up generator sets that would serve as backup power for its transmission towers in case of prolonged power outages, the Ayala-run telco said.
Globe technical teams are monitoring equipment in view of Taal's volatile condition, the company said in a statement. The second highest alert remains over the volcano, meaning a hazardous eruption is still possible.
Globe said it would continue to offer free WiFi and mobile phone charging in select areas for those displaced by the volcano.
