Budget carrier South East Asian Airlines (SEAIR) will start operating under the name Tiger Airways later this quarter.
SEAIR chief executive officer Patrick Tan said the change in name is part of efforts to ramp up regional expansion and rebrand the airline, capitalizing on the strong brand of Tiger Airways in East Asia.
Singaporean carrier Tiger Airways bough a 40-percent stake in SEAIR for $2.5 million in August.
Latest data showed SEAIR's passenger traffic grew by nearly 34 percent to over 325,000 passengers in the first nine months of 2012. -- ANC
