MANILA - Property giant Megaworld said Tuesday it has organized relief operations for more than 400 families affected by the eruption of Taal Volcano in Nasugbu, Batangas.

Megaworld Foundation, the socio-civic arm of property giant Megaworld, said the beneficiaries were from the towns of Agoncillo, Laurel, Lemery, Manghinao, San Nicolas, Taal, and Talisay who are currently seeking shelter in a number of evacuation centers in Nasugbu.

"We hope that in this small way, we can help alleviate the suffering of our fellow Filipinos," said Francis Canuto, president of Megaworld Foundation.

The foundation said it has also pledged to donate to relief efforts of the ABS-CBN Foundation and two other groups.

Megaworld has also waived overnight parking fees in the malls it operates south of Metro Manila such as The Village Square Alabang and Southwoods Mall.

Donation boxes for relief goods have also now been put up in other Megaworld malls such as Eastwood Mall, Lucky Chinatown, Venice Grand Canal, Southwoods Mall, and Uptown Mall.
