MANILA—The National Food Authority on Monday said it has enough rice stocks in areas affected by Taal Volcano's steam and ash eruption.
NFA Administrator Judy Carol Dansal said the agency's operation centers will be open 24 hours a day to serve local governments and relief agencies.
“We have sufficient rice stocks in the regions and provinces affected by the ash fall. There are NFA employees who are on skeletal force in central and field offices and in warehouses, ready to serve the requirement of the LGUs, DSWD and other relief agencies should they need rice for the ashfall victims,” Dansal said in a statement.
Region 4, or the Southern Tagalog Region, has 1.93 million bags of rice, the National Capital Region has 197,000 bags, while Region 3 or Central Luzon has 1.96 million bags.
