Ayala, Pangilinan extend Taal aid, as top PH firms chip in to help

MANILA (UPDATE) -- Companies including the Ayala Group, MVP Group, Shell and Robinsons Malls said Monday they extended assistance to those affected by the Taal Volcano eruption.

The Ayala Group said it has mobilized its different business units to provide assistance to evacuees.

Manila Water, its water distributing arm, said it sent 30 water tankers and an initial 2,000 five-gallon units of drinking water to different evacuation sites in Batangas.

The MVP Group, meanwhile, is offering different services to those affected by the eruption.

One Meralco Foundation said it has set up solar mobile charging stations at evacuation centers near Taal Volcano. The evacuation center in Alfonso town, Cavite, is already equipped with such a service.

Meralco will provide generator sets to organizations and evacuation centers, while free charging services are also available at the PLDT Tagaytay Office.

Maynilad said it will deploy 13 water tankers, as well as drinking water, to affected communities.

Metro Pacific Tollways Corp. (MPTC) will also provide water for windshields along Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX).

The group's foundations will also deploy a food truck to serve hot meals at evacuation centers in Tagaytay, Laurel and Mabini in Batangas.

Free nebulizer services from volunteer doctors and nurses, as well as care packs, face masks, and psycho-social first aid kits will also be provided by the Makati Medical Center Foundation.

Evacuees fleeing the volcano can avail of free WiFi connection and overnight parking on Monday at all Ayala malls in Metro Manila and the Southern Tagalog.

Cinemas in Ayala Malls Solenad and Nuvali are open to customers who need shelter and to recharge their gadgets,

Other malls also waived their overnight parking fees for motorists.

Free parking spaces are available in the following Robinsons Mall on a first-come, first-serve basis:
