MANILA -- Motorcycle-hailing firm JoyRide on Friday urged rivals Angkas and Move It to cooperate in the extended pilot run of motor taxis to help government craft regulation for the sector.
The largest of the trio, Angkas, had protested the cap on riders at 10,000 per platform since it currently has 27,000. The extended pilot will run until March 23.
"We have to cooperate, comply so eventually the technical working group will find it favorable and finally endorse it to Congress," said Edwin Rodriguez, Business Development adviser of JoyRide PH.
"It's comparison. The government is comparing to get the best practice," Rodriguez told ANC's Headstart.
JoyRide has signed up around 6,000 riders , of which 1,500 are on the road, he said. Drivers and passengers are insured up to P500,000 each, he said.
