We rarely acknowledge it but here in the Philippines, to be able to easily turn on a tap or flush a toilet is a privilege. For many, the simple act of drinking a glass of water requires multiple arduous tasks. For the guys behind Tubig Para Sa Lahat, a group composed of concerned individuals from the local food and beverage community, this should not be the case.
Hence, they’ve organized a charity event for the benefit of World Vision Development Foundation Inc. The group intends to raise awareness about the struggles that many of our fellow countrymen face sourcing water for their daily needs. This one-night only event will bring together some of the best restaurants in the Philippines for a special evening of dining out for a worthy cause.
On Wednesday, August 31, 2022, if you dine in the following restaurants—Azuthai, Black Pig, Cirkulo, Gallery by Chele, Hapag, Helm, M Dining, Metronome, The Test Kitchen & Toyo Eatery—you will be helping fund clean water and hygiene programs in Albay, Sorsogon, Camarines Sur, Antique, Leyte, Samar, Negros and BARMM. These charity dinners are open to the dining public.
The proceeds from the evening will be donated directly to World Vision Development Foundation Inc., a Christian global relief, development and advocacy organization dedicated to working with the most vulnerable children, families and communities to reach their full potential by addressing the causes of poverty and injustice.
“Clean and safe water is important for children to be healthy, clean, and protected against sicknesses,” says the organization. “When clean water is close by, children are freed from the burden of walking miles to collect it, giving them time to go to school and realize their full potential.”
