Many industries have had to evolve and rethink their services to meet the needs and wants of their patrons. One sector that has been hit particularly hard is hospitality. While bookings will be hard to come by for the forseeable future, hotel food and beverage points are finding ways to reconnect with their customers. Here are three that have launched delivery and takeout services:

Shangri-La at the Fort

ANCX recently attended a Zoom cooking session by Shangri-La at the Fort’s executive chef Joris Rycken. During the session, Rycken highlighted the new offerings of the hotel’s High Street CafĂ© (HSC). Notably, the restaurant now offers its own stay-in retail line, featuring the restaurant's signature dishes such as Laksa & Beef Cheeks. For the event, Rycken chose to feature one of their best-sellers, the Kiss My Beef Cheeks dish for the cooking demonstration.

To prepare us for the event, Shangri-La at the Fort delivered the demonstration kits to all the houses of the participants beforehand. The box contained two kits of Kiss My cheeks, and four sample bottles of their JUICED brand of healthy energy-boosting drinks. The Kiss my Beef Cheeks Kit contained a bag of 24-hour Braised Beef Cheek with Gravy, a bag of mashed potatoes, and one bag of roasted root vegetables. For the JUICED brand, they sent four variants: Skin toned, containing activated charcoal, coconut water, lemon; Glow and Behold, made with Spirulina, pineapple, wheatgrass; Skinny Genes, containing probiotics, lemon, salt, cayenne pepper, ginger; and Pump it Up, made with Ginger turmeric, black pepper.

The whole contents of the Kiss My Cheeks kit is packaged neatly in a recyclable box. The three main ingredients are placed in clear plastic bags and instructions are included in the kit as well. The cooking process itself is quite simple: Fill a big pot with water, and bring it to a boil. Once the water is boiling, slightly reduce the heat and place the three clear plastic bags into the pot. After seven minutes, use a kitchen tong to carefully pull out the bags and then use scissors to open the contents into a plate.

Other signature stay-in dishes to watch out for are Nenek Chicken Satay, Wang's Wonton Soup, and Hearty Double Boiled Soup.
