Time is of the essence during the Philippine Moto Heritage Weekend

At the event featuring vintage motorcycles, Italian watch brand D1 Milano was a looming presence, awarding prizes for the Distinguished Gentleman's Ride, and giving guests a sneak peek of their own upcoming big bike event.

Organized annually by Ride PH, the Moto Heritage Weekend is a two-day event that features the rarest and most valuable vintage motorcycles in the Philippines, including those that have been thoroughly and conscientiously restored. From September 28 to 29, the event was held at the Metrotent Convetion Center in Metrowalk Plaza in Pasig was filled by enthusiasts, experts, and supporters of these two-wheeled marvels.

One such supporter is italian watch brand D1 Milano, who sponsoredthe prizes for the event,and for this year’s Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride (DGR), a yearly after-event fundraising initiative that raises awareness for prostate cancer and male suicide prevention. Founded in 2012 by Mark Hawwa in Sydney, the DGR wants to strip away the negative stereotype of bikers, connect enthusiasts, and support men’s physical and mental health by encouraging the riders to be in their smartest suits and ties.

For this year’s DGR, D1 Milano awarded three of the 30 limited-edition chronograph watches to the winners of the Best Dressed Man, the Best Dressed Woman, and the RIDE PH Best Looking Bike of the Moto Heritage competition. Aside from sponsoring the prizes, the brand also shared a sneak peek of what motorbike enthusiasts will witness at the D1 Milano Italian Bike Ride by launching the D1 Milano Chronograph Watch. This will be officially launched during the event this month.

D1 Milano sold 27 of the 30 limited-edition watches during the weekend, all of which were engraved with Vintage Rider Manila logo. The brand's first collaboration in Philippines was intended to create the first limited-edition Chronographs for the local market.

D1 Milano was founded in Milan, Italy in 2013, through the careful guidance of its 26-year-old CEO Dario Spallone. It is distributed in 33 countries all over the world, with 800 points of sales and presence in department stores such as Luisa Via Roma, La Rinascente, and Harvey Nichols GCC.  

“We believe that it is a great avenue to unite Filipino bikers and communities while raising funds to support men all over the world to raise awareness on prostate cancer and mental health,” shares Manuel Dacanay, D1 Milano’s Philippine distributor.
