We know that Halloween is just around the corner and local cinemas have been permitted to reopen—but horror fans need to wait a little longer to catch Paramount Pictures’ fifth installment of “Scream.” In the meantime, this trailer should give you an idea what to expect. The film is slated to open in the Philippines come January 2022.
In this latest update on the franchise, a new killer has taken on the Ghostface mask 25 years after a streak of brutal murders shocked the quiet town of Woodsboro. Neve Campbell (Sidney Prescott), Courteney Cox (Gale Weathers) and David Arquette (Dewey Riley) return to their iconic roles. They are joined this time by Melissa Barrera, Kyle Gallner, Mason Gooding, Mikey Madison, Dylan Minnette, Jenna Ortega, Jack Quaid, Marley Shelton, Jasmin Savoy Brown, and Sonia Ammar.
This latest “Scream” is directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin & Tyler Gillett of the filmmaking group Radio Silence (“Ready or Not,” “V/H/S”), and written by James Vanderbilt & Guy Busick, based on the characters created by Kevin Williamson. The past “Scream” films were helmed by famed “maestro of horror,” the late Wes Craven, and the films went on to gross more than $600 million in worldwide box office receipts.
The film is distributed by Paramount Pictures through Columbia Pictures.
