If there’s still any doubt that Amalia Fuentes was one of the most beautiful faces that graced the big screen, one only need to see this video of a photo album filled with drop dead gorgeous images of the actress they like to call the Philippines’ answer to Elizabeth Taylor.

We spotted the video post on the Facebook page of Simon Santos, the man behind the shop at West Avenue called Video 48, one of the few surviving shrines to Philippine cinema located in Quezon City. According to Mr. Santos, who also runs the awesome movie blog Video48.blogspot.com, he bought the Amalia Fuentes photo album from a walk-in customer many years back. “I don’t remember the exact amount I paid but I shelled out just enough for a reasonable deal,” he tells ANCX. The album contains 55 two-pocket pages of around 224 photos, says Santos, all taken in the 60s during the actress’ prime.

Not that Mr. Santos is an Amalia fan (he is actually more an FPJ and Dolphy fan, if we remember right) but she admires the Star for her contributions to Philippine cinema. “This magnificent album became more priceless and valuable when I made her sign it in 2011 during the film screening of her previously lost 1974 film, Elwood Perez’s Isang Gabi, Tatlong Babae at the CCP. She was in awe when she browsed the whole album. It was the first time I met her up close and personal.”

Amalia Fuentes passed away last weekend, October 5, at the St. Luke’s Medical Hospital In Taguig City, due to multiple organ failure.
