No plans for the long weekend? CinemaOne might just have the perfect pandemic-era Halloween activity for you: Halloween Drive-in Cinema—it promises the scares and social distancing will be observed.
This Friday and Saturday, October 30 and 31, the movie channel is hosting a free drive-in screening of “The Rental” (Friday) and “Unhinged” (Saturday). Both outdoor screenings will be at the Vertis North in Quezon City. Both screenings are at 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM. Gates open at 5PM.
You may not be familiar with the actors in “The Rental” but people are saying it’s a great directorial debut from Dave Franco. It’s about four friends who rent a vacation house but grow alarmingly suspicious they are being watched. What starts as a happy mini-break in a seaside destination turns into something quite disturbing. From the reviews, people are loving this mystery thriller.
Russel Crowe plays a psychopath in “Unhinged” which has been described by the people who have seen it as “bloody and hilarious.” A review we read says it will keep viewers at the edge of their seats. Crowe assumes the role of the snarling lead whose anger problems are triggered by a mom who beeps her horn towards him during rush hour traffic. The initial exchange of words, of course, escalates to a frightening chase.
