Because of the increasingly alarming threat of the spread of COVID-19 in the country, the organizers behind Art in the Park has decided to move the event to a later date. The country’s annual market for affordable art, highly anticipated by budding collectors, happens yearly in the month of March at the Jaime Velasquez Park in Salcedo Village, Makati City.
Below is the message sent by the organizers to ANCX.ph:
“Mindful of our collective responsibility to help contain the spread of COVID-19, the organizers of Art in the Park and the Museum Foundation of the Philippines have decided to postpone the event scheduled for Sunday, March 15, 2020.
“We were looking forward with anticipation to another successful edition of Art in the Park. However, in consideration of the recent advisories by both the WHO and the DOH, we feel that pushing through with the event would be irresponsible.
“We deeply appreciate the support that our participants and visitors have expressed throughout the planning process for this year’s Art in the Park. Our thoughts are with those who have been affected by the corona virus globally, and fervently hope that this crisis will be overcome soon.
“We hope to reschedule Art in the Park to later this year.”
