Following the retirement of Kobe Bryant, the Los Angeles Lakers are expected to be the underdog in the upcoming NBA season.

No one expects the team to be a fierce opponent. This, despite acquiring young prospects Brandon Ingram and Ivica Zubac in the NBA draft.

According to their Real Plus-Minus stat, the Lakers are likely to win the fewest number of games in the league.

Many analysts, meanwhile, believe that fans will once again have to hold their breath and trust the team's new head coach, Luke Walton.

This, perhaps, might give way for the Golden State Warriors to continue their reign as NBA's current juggernaut. Apart from having Stephen Curry, the Warriors are now stronger with Kevin Durant.

They also have the likes of Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and Andre Iguodala. So, definitely, they are the team to beat this season.

But analysts believe that people should not put all their cards in one team. Fans must also look out for other powerhouse teams like the following:

1. Cleveland Cavaliers

Arguably, the Cavaliers remain a powerhouse with talents like LeBron James, Kyrie Irving, and Kevin Love.

2. San Antonio Spurs

If the Spurs decide to pair LaMarcus Aldridge with Pau Gasol, these strong big men can make them as defensive as the Warriors.

3. Boston Celtics

The Celtics has a team of young talents who can make their games more exciting.

But, of course, despite all these expectations and predictions, things can still change before the new season kicks off on October 15.
