The Huawei Mate series has formally been launched in the Philippines.
Featuring the Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro, the series is touted to be Huawei's most advanced series, due to innovative new features.
Aside from higher performance and an improved camera, the new series features phones capable of sharing battery power, wirelessly.
"Kapag dinikit ko ang phone ko sa phone mo...makaka-transfer ako sa iyo ng battery (When you put your phone close to another, you can transfer battery power)," said brand ambassador Jericho Rosales, who said he also likes the series' AI-equipped Leica co-engineered Triple Camera, which also has a revolutionary ultra-wide lens.
"I am always blown away by the quality and the resolution. It can recognize things, iyon ang medyo wild para sa akin now. It's my latest companion," the actor said.
Peter Gauden, global senior product marketing manager of Huawei Technologies Ltd., meanwhile said the new Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro phones are powerful and efficient due to improved hardware, particularly the new Kirin 980 chip which allows the phone to have a diverse range of capabilities.
"The CPU and the GPU, both in performance and power efficiency, but we have a brand new dual neural processing unit technology sitting inside, which means that the AI (artificial intelligence) is even smarter than it was before," said Gauden.
The series also features phones that are among the slimmest in the market, surprising considering its power, he said.
The phone has a fast-charging, large-capacity 4,200 mAh battery with AI-fueled power management.
Adding to its streamlined design is an in-screen finger lock technology, among other key security features such as 3D Face Unlock.
The Mate series is available in stores around the country.
