Brands are expected to use top-notch graphics -- especially giants such as Unilever and Lazada.

Recently, however, brands of Unilever Philippines changed the profile and cover photos of their respective Facebook pages to what seemed like drawings of children.

It was not just a decision for the cuteness of the colorful illustrations--it was all for a good reason.

Unilever has partnered with Lazada to launch Shop2Give, a 24-hour shopping event that allows consumers to support the children of UNICEF, a United Nations development arm for children.

On October 17, Unilever will transform Lazada's design by replacing images of their products with hand-drawn illustrations in honor of children--the true beneficiaries of the event.

Celebrities have already started changing their profile pictures to children's drawings, in support of the advocacy.

Shop2Give, the shopping event of LazMall Super Brand Day with Unilever on Lazada will see Unilever brands at 80% off the regular price of their products.

'Buy one, give one deals' are also available, a meaningful initiative that treats shoppers to massive discounts, but also donates Unilever products to the children of UNICEF.

When purchasing Unilever products in Lazada, online shoppers can use the promo code SHOP2GIVE, or collect vouchers to receive even more discounts on their carts when they check out. A donation will be made to UNICEF children for every purchase made.

This way, not only do shoppers enjoy their favorite products at a discounted price, but they also help children for the benefit of Unicef.

"We at Unilever stand with UNICEF in their mission to save and improve children's lives. Through the participation of all our leading brands, we aim to make significant contribution in their programs that improve children's education, provide access to clean and safe water, enhance sanitation and hygiene, and strengthen child protection," said Unilever Philippines Chairman and CEO Benjie Yap.

LazMall Super Brand Day with Unilever on Lazada begins at 12 midnight of October 17. Shop and give back in just a few clicks on the Lazada website or mobile app.
