Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) all strive to give their loved ones back home a bright future. They are modern-day heroes who take risks and sacrifices to provide for their families. Yet despite their increased ability to financially provide for their loved ones, OFWs cannot help but still worry, especially with the unpredictability of the global health situation.

Over one million migrant workers have been displaced or repatriated since the health crisis began in March 2020. But there are still some who are fortunate to continue working overseas.

As the situation remains uncertain, BPI hopes to help these OFWs maximize their earnings so that they can be better prepared for whatever comes next.

The bank is offering two types of remittance solutions designed to address the special needs of OFWs and their families in the Philippines — the BPI Pamana Padala and BPI Padala Moneyger.

To help aid OFWs in sending their love to their family across the ocean, BPI offers the Pamana Padala

This remittance solution provides OFWs the convenience of sending funds straight to their family's BPI account in the Philippines anytime, anywhere. OFWs are sure that their family will receive their hard-earned salaries in full. It also comes with a backup plan for their peace of mind with its Remittance Continuation benefit that provides them a free 90-day Personal Accident Insurance of up to P300,000 upon account opening. They will be entitled to this as soon as there are four remittances to the Pamana Padala account within 12 months.

On the other hand, BPI Padala Moneyger is specially designed for those who receive remittances from abroad. Families in the Philippines can instantly receive the support sent to them as the money will be credited to their account almost in real-time.

OFWs can feel reassured that their family will receive their remittances efficiently and that the funds will be safe and secure during the process. They also do not have to worry about having to risk their safety in going out as the account holder can use BPI's digital banking services such as BPI online, BPI Mobile and ATMs to access the funds. In addition, the Padala Moneyger has no maintaining balance as long as there are four remittances made to the account in a year.

These remittance solutions are part of BPI Pinoy Abroad, a program that seeks to guide OFWs and their families in securing the future that they are working very hard for. To reach their financial goals, both the OFW and their family need to work together to make it happen and BPI hopes to aid both by offering a variety of financial products and services to accompany every stage of their journey to progress.

The company also hopes that even though OFWs are far away from their loved ones, these programs and services can help bring them closer, and look forward to a prosperous future together.
