The Queen City of the Philippines has been growing in prominence and influence as more local and foreign investors begin to look beyond the capital. Over the years, Cebu has proven to be a thriving regional hub of commerce, trade, education, and tourism.
Cebu is also home to natural attractions, state-of-the-art urban city infrastructures, and historical landmarks. Its business districts are the address of some of the most renowned global institutions in the world.
After its first venture in Southern Philippines with Cebu Exchange, one of the leading green real estate developers Arthaland returns its gaze to Cebu City as it launches its latest project – Lucima.
''[Lucima] is envisioned to be the first quadruple-certified sustainable high-rise residential condominium in the country,'' said Arthaland Vice Chairman and President Jaime C. González. ''It will take premium living in Cebu City to new heights with unparalleled design, sustainability, and wellness features.''
The Luxury of Wellness and Sustainability
The whole global crisis has brought forth a new meaning to luxury. It is no longer just about opulence or grandeur but comfort, health, and wellness. This is something the designers kept in mind for Lucima.
Designed by Saraiva + Associados, an internationally renowned architectural firm based in Lisbon, Portugal, the residential development features 263 one to five-bedroom living spaces, ranging from 38 to 542 square meters. Each of the units in the building was created with the firm's human-centered design approach, valuing comfort, functionality, and aesthetics.
''The goal of this project was to design an iconic building in the city that would engage with its surroundings. This building sits on a podium, a podium with personality, which will showcase a vertically well-designed and integrated building,'' said Architect Miguel Saraiva, CEO and Founder of Saraiva + Associados.
Knowing that location is a key component in making a new investment, Lucima will be built at the heart of Cebu's main business and lifestyle district, Cebu Business Park. The residential condominium will sit on 2,245 square meters of prime real estate with panoramic views of the ocean, mountains, or the bustling city. It also has a pool at the Amenity Deck, Fitness Center, Children's Play Room, Function Hall, and Potager Garden.
With timeless designs, tropical-inspired architecture, meticulously executed construction, and thoughtful sustainability features, the latest development aims to provide living spaces that exude the luxury of wellness and sustainability.
''In Lucima, we will put people's health and wellness at the center – from its conception, to the building's turn over, and until we manage the property when the occupants are in it. Today, we are facing immense health challenges. Sustainable and healthy homes are a must. Cebu deserves a true sustainable development that will enhance the way people live and work,'' added González.
Arthaland prides itself in a 100% certified green building portfolio. Sustainability is at the core of every project; from Arya Residences and Arthaland Century Pacific Tower in Bonifacio Global City, Savya Financial Center in Taguig City, to Sevina Park in Biñan City.
Lucima's residential spaces serve to complement Cebu Exchange's commercial offices and business ecosystem.
The green residential building will be built with double glazed, Low-E glass façade and equipped with energy-efficient A/C units and lighting systems, and low-flow water-efficient fixtures – all promising at least 40% energy savings and 20% water savings. Low-emitting and non-toxic materials will be used in its construction.
An Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV) and carbon monoxide monitor comes with every air-tight unit to monitor and improve indoor air quality.
As a building designed with the current needs of homeowners, its property management will be implementing key contactless technologies such as remote virtual concierge and 24/7 semi-autonomous surveillance robots.
The 37-story development has earned pre-certification for LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold by the U.S. Green Building Council and is working to get certifications for WELL™ (WELL Building Standard), EDGE® (Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies), and BERDE (Building for Ecologically Responsive Design Excellence).
Representatives from the International Finance Corporation and International WELL Building Institute commended Lucima for its pursuit of being a green, resilient building and opening the stage for a new era of sustainable homes.
''We feel that sustainability is not just a buzz. It is something that we are responsible to provide to our clients, to our buyers, to our investors, and residents. It is something that each and every developer needs to be able to provide to everyone else,'' shared Oliver L. Chan, Arthaland Sales & Marketing Operations Head and Emera Property Management President. ''It combines health, wellness, and sustainability. When you talk about these features, it gives you energy and water savings, it improves indoor air quality, and wellness of the residents and tenants.''
Ones' living spaces contribute greatly to ones' happiness, productivity, and well-being. That is why choosing a home investment should be done with great care.
For Arthaland, all these are taken into consideration as it launches its newest residential building. One that offers green and sustainable homes that will help improve the quality of life of its residents while safeguarding the environment for future generations.
Lucima is scheduled to be completed in the 3rd quarter of 2025. For more information about Arthaland, you can e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or visit its website.
