One does not even need to spend exorbitant amounts of money to purchase professional gear as recent technology has made it affordable. Smartphone cameras are also being developed to stand at par with digital cameras.

Professional imaging within reach

One of the things this smartphone series is highlighting is its advanced camera technology. Made in partnership with German optics company ZEISS, the vivo X80 series promises to help anyone become a pro with its co-engineered imaging system.

The X80 model has three rear cameras: a 50MP IMX866 RGBW Main Camera, a 12MP IMX663 Wide-Angle Camera, and a 12MP IMX663 Portrait Camera. Meanwhile, the X80 Pro has four rear cameras: a 50MP Ultra-Sensing GNV Main Camera, a 48MP IMX598 Wide-Angle Camera, a 12MP IMX663 Portrait Camera, and an 8MP 5X Periscope Camera. All of these are powered by the ZEISS T* Coating to allow users to capture every image vividly and clearly in its true colors. This feature, which can be found in all ZEISS products, uses multiple layers of anti-reflective coatings to provide maximum light intensity and the brightest images. By reducing reflections from glass surfaces and increasing the transparency of the glass, users of its cameras may avoid annoying reflections, ghost images, and unwanted flares on their photos.

For those who are interested in shooting videos or creating films with a smartphone, this latest series offers camera features such as the ZEISS Cinematic Video which allows one to shoot professional videos with purity, sharpness, and natural-looking bokeh flares that are seen in many Hollywood films. This blur effect adds a cinematic touch to any video, especially night scenes, as lights behind the subject are turned into unique oval flares that mimic the effects of ZEISS Anamorphic film lenses.

There is also the ZEISS Super Night Camera which allows users to reproduce the beauty of the night clearly and turns ordinary images into HDR photos. Camping trips and stargazing events are no longer an issue as this feature can help the user take good photos despite the poor lighting. Portraits and sports scenes are shot with stability, even while panning, with the Gimbal Stabilization feature so one is sure to get great memories at their kids' sporting events or weekend road trips with friends.

Have a big family or group of friends? The X80 series makes sure that every person is distinct in reunion photos with its AI Group Portrait feature that can clearly shoot group photos of up to 30 people.

Having good camera features allow any aspiring photographer or videographer to practice their skills, express their creative ideas, and own their masterpiece even without the expensive equipment. Smartphones like these democratize high-tech and quality cameras so that anyone can come up with noteworthy content no matter where they are.

That is not all. The X80 is also one of the first in the industry to use Sony's latest sensor, the IMX866 RGBW. The IMX866 uses an RGBW filter, which captures light better, further giving the smartphone camera a high sensitivity. The result? Users may expect vivid and clear photos that capture true colors of the subject and the background, whether taken during the day or at night. It is another first for the brand as high-end models use RGGB instead of the RGBW. The X80 Pro's main camera, on the other hand, has 50MP Ultra sensing GNV sensor. It is a customized variant built for vivo, with a large aperture of 1/1.3 that lets more light in and allows users to add dimension to their images. At the heart of its professional imaging system is the customized vivo V1+ chip that enhances night video denoising and HDR performance with the help of AI. The same chip is what allows both smartphones to reduce power consumption and run smoothly while playing games.

To support its pro photography features, vivo ups the ante on the performance of its flagship series. The battery may be charged quickly with the 80W Flash Charge, with the X80 Pro having an additional 50W wireless charging option. The X80 model is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9000, while Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 fuels the X80 Pro. Busy professionals will find the Snapdragon processor offers a smoother experience and more impressive performance when compared to its predecessors. Streaming videos, opening big documents, playing games, or launching multiple apps at the same time are not a problem as it has the all-new UFS Deep Defragmentation that prevents lag after prolonged use. It is an ideal companion for those who like to multitask and live an on-the-go lifestyle.

All of these features are packaged in a design with a 6.78-inch 3D Curve Screen. The back cover is made of fingerprint-resistant Fluorite AG Glass that is also easy to hold.

Both models come in a Cosmic Black color likened to the starlit night sky, with the X80 also being available in Urban Blue, a shade that brings to mind balmy afternoons by the sea.
