Yang Guoliang, Representative of the Chinese Embassy in Manila, shared how the embassy hopes to continue its goal of helping Filipino communities have access to daily necessities.

''With over a thousand years of amicable exchanges, our modern-day relationship has been a testament to how our friendship continues to reap good fruits whatever the challenge we may face. The health crisis saw both our governments working together and providing resources such as Chinese-donated and procured vaccines, face masks, PPE gears, and more for each other,'' Yang Guoliang said in his speech. ''During typhoons, China [is among] the first to respond through relief aid and donations to show solidarity with those affected by the calamities. And most recently, our partnership saw the completion of the Binondo-Intramuros bridge, which will not only [help] reduce traffic congestion but will also contribute to the convenient movement of goods, including your harvested grains and fished seafood. All of these and many more were achieved through our strong bonds as friends, neighbors, and partners.''

''Through your donation, we have been able to extend help to our farmers and fishermen by providing them their needs [and augmenting the] source of income for their daily lives,'' Jonson added. ''Thank you for making a difference through your compassion and generosity.''
