Green advocates are set to join a student-organized forum to discuss the importance of environmental policy-making in addressing present and forthcoming issues on global climate change.
Entitled "Blueprint 4.0: Public Policy Conference," the yearly forum of the University of the Philippines Political Society (UP POLSCi) will focus on discussing the role of the public, especially the youth, in crafting policies and helping to reduce climate change impacts.
This year, the event goes under the theme "Safeguarding the Future: The Philippine Environmental Security."
The conference will sponsor talks from a number of notable Filipino green movers such as former environment secretary Gina Lopez, country leader of Oceana-Philippines Gloria Ramos, and UP alumnus Kerr Deliva.
According to UP POLSCi, the main goal of the program is to encourage the youth to actively participate in the policy-making process for the benefit of the country's environmental security.
A workshop will also be conducted to allow participants to pitch policies, which will be judged by experts on law and environmental issues.
Open to all senior high school and college students, the conference will be held on Saturday, April 28 at the NISMED Auditorium, UP Diliman.
Updates and registration information can be found on the UP Political Society Facebook Page.
