Driving can both be a necessity and a hobby; a way for someone to get around town to safely run errands or go to work, while also bringing people to new places and unexplored sights.
While driving in itself is always an adventure, what if there is a way to make those daily drives more exciting?
Global mobility company Toyota has made it its mission to make mobility for all while also making cars that deliver Waku Doki or heart-pumping excitement. Over the years, it has participated in various motorsports events around the world. Its own global motorsports division, TOYOTA GAZOO Racing (TGR), focuses on specialized research and production of vehicles built with racing DNA.
Hoping to bring the excitement and passion brought by TGR to everyday drives, the brand began making sporty options of its best-selling models available to consumers.
Joining the locally manufactured Vios GR-S in this exhilarating lineup, Toyota has launched new iterations of the Fortuner and Hilux, complete with the GR Sport (GR-S) badge.
The new GR-S models come with a striking and aggressive exterior than the regular variants, but that is not all it has to offer.
Check out the new features and upgrades you can expect in the sporty versions of the Fortuner and Hilux.
Starting from the exterior, expect a gloss black G-MESH front grille design with the TOYOTA emblem across the model's front, body color overfenders, sports bar in gloss black, and black-tinted clear coating on 18'' alloy wheels with machine cut finish.
For a stable ride and race-like feel, it has new front GR brake calipers and Monotube Shock Absorber.
To match its sporty exteriors, the interior has been redesigned with smoke silver metallic trims, leather with red stitching on the wheel, aluminum pedals, and GR-exclusive sport-type front seats with suede and leather material complete with red stitching.
In addition, the driver seat has 8-Way Power Adjust seats, Hood-lift assist, Paddle shifters, and Auto-Dimming Inside Rear View Mirror. Plus, unlike previous variants, this Hilux model gets a Panoramic View Monitor.
Similar to the Hilux GR-S, the new Fortuner also sports new exterior features such as redesigned front and rear bumpers, fog lamp garnish, body color arch mould, back door garnish, bi-tone rear spoiler, and black-tinted clear coating on 18'' alloy wheels with machine cut finish.
It has both front and rear GR Brake Calipers and the Monotube Shock Absorber, details only found in GR-S vehicles that make it a comfortable yet racetrack worthy drive.
To further promote the race-like driving experience, it has been designed with red, black, and smoke silver metallic accented GR interior, leather with red stitching on the wheel, aluminum pedals, sport type front seats with suede and leather material with red stitching, and Matte Carbon trims on the center cluster.
It also comes with 8-Way Power Adjust seats, dual-zone A/C, Hood-lift assist, and Kick sensor for the power back door.
Last but not least are its safety features. The Fortuner GR-S is equipped with a Panoramic View Monitor and Toyota Safety Sense with Pre-Collision System, Lane Departure Alert, Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Monitor, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. All these allow car owners to have exhilarating drives while feeling confident in the knowledge that their car can still protect them whatever happens.
The GR Sport badge completes the look for both models. While that tells car owners that this is a vehicle honed in intense racing conditions, these new variants are not just made for racing fans or motorsports enthusiasts who want to bring their passion for the racetrack on the highway. These cars are meant for anyone who wants to upgrade their ride and experience exciting drives every day.
The GR-S models are not just meant to look good; it also aims to improve mobility, allowing people to travel whatever distance or terrain they want to conquer. One can easily scale mountains with the pickup or go on impromptu weekend road trips with friends on the SUV.
Drivers can take home these new models from any Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) dealerships across the country.
