MANILA -- Glitz and glamour filled the halls of Makati Shangri-La on Saturday night as some of the country's brightest stars converged at the 11th Star Magic Ball.

Established in 2006, the Star Magic Ball aims to celebrate Star Magic's role as the discoverer of new talents who will someday become the icons of their generations.

And true enough, Star Magic has produced countless artists who eventually found their niche in music, film, and television, among others.

No wonder, even before the event started, the official hashtag #StarMagicBall2017 already claimed the top trending spot on Twitter, as fans shared the excitement of their idols.

Thanks to OPPO for handing out OPPO F5 units to select celebrities, who eagerly uploaded their selfies, groufies, and behind-the-scene photos even before the the ball began.

For this year, the country's grandest showbiz event kicked off with a glamorous red carpet, where stars sashayed in their gowns and suits. Cameras flashed with every step, smile, and wave.

A photo wall was set up near the red carpet, where some of the celebrities eagerly took selfies using their OPPO F5 phones. Inspired by OPPO's tagline "capture the real you," the stars were able to freeze their best moments on cam.

One of the most trending celebrity couples during the ball is "Love You to the Stars and Back" actors Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto, who filled the Internet with "kilig" as they flooded social media with their sweet selfies. Take note that this was the first time they're attending Star Magic Ball together since they openly admitted their blossoming romance.

Young actresses Janella Salavador, Colleen Garcia, Jessy Mendiola, Star Patroller Getchen Fullido, and Star Magic Ball host Gretchen Ho also enjoyed taking selfies with the OPPO F5, which gave them the natural and fresh effect they wanted to achieve.

Meanwhile, OPPO brand ambassadors Robi Domingo, Ronnie Alonte, and Matteo Guidicelli utilized the phone's excellent front camera, which enabled them to take groufies with the whole gang. This, without the need for a selfie stick, which is too big to carry for such an intimate event.

Before the ball commenced, OPPO gave the Couple of the Night award to celebrity couple Luis Manzano and Jessy Mendiola, who admitted during the ball that they're planning to settle down soon. But that can wait, says Luis, who wants to support Jessy achieve her dreams first.

Indeed, Star Magic Ball is more than just a ball. It is a venue for celebrities to forge relationships, create memories, and build dreams with their fellow actors, handlers, and special ones.

Good thing, OPPO F5 was there to keep these memories frozen in high-quality photos. These celebrities seemed contented with the OPPO F5's top-of-the-line features, and die-hard O-Fans can finally get a look of OPPO's best phone yet this October 26.
