Wowing onlookers with striking attire that rivaled their on-screen costumes, the actors of 'Black Panther' attended the movie's Hollywood premiere late January in grand style.
The film by Marvel Entertainment, which is based on comic books set in fictional African nation Wakanda, features a largely black cast including Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong'o, Danai Gurira, and Angela Bassett.
Respectively, they play T'Challa and the titular hero Black Panther, power-hungry villain Erik Killmonger, Wakandan warrior Nakia, Wakandan warrior Okoye, and T'Challa's mother Ramonda.
The actors graced the Los Angeles premiere in scene-stealing outfits befitting their royal film characters, as cameras flashed at the purple carpet.
Oscar-winning Nyong'o, who plays warrior Nakia, wore a purple Versace gown, while Basset sported a golden yellow Naeem Khan fringe jumpsuit.
Luckily for Marvel, people who witnessed the screening were also equally impressed by the film's "incredible" storyline and visual effects, which were far from eclipsed by the actors' attire.
