Filipino skeet shooter, archer bow out of Games

MANILA, Philippines – Two Filipino athletes crashed out of medal contention in the ongoing 2012 London Olympics.

Filipino skeet shooter Brian Rosario failed to make the cut for the finals after scoring 110 points, below the required score of 120 points.

Also bowing out was Rachel Cabral, who faced Russia’s Ina Stepanova in the women’s individual archery.

Stepanova got a higher ranking of 17th, while Cabral settled at 48th.

The two Olympians joined lifted Hidilyn Diaz and swimmer Jessie Khing Lacuna, who earlier bowed out of the Games as well.

Still scheduled to compete for the national colors are archer Mark Javier, BMX biker Daniel Caluag, track stars Rene Herrera and Marestella Torres, judoka Tomohiko Hoshina, and swimmer Jasmine Alkhaldi. Mornings @ ANC, August 1, 2012.
